Spiced Almonds & Pecans

I just have to share this recipe with you.  I know the holidays are over but…these are sooooo good and so easy to make.  You can enjoy them while playing a good game of Trivial Pursuit.  Lol!  (Or any other board game on a cold winter night.)

1 egg white or 35 ml liquid egg whites

1 tbsp water

½ cup sugar

1 ¼ cup pecan halves

1 ¼ cup almonds

½ cup sliced almonds

½ tsp salt

1 tsp ground cinnamon

1 tsp allspice

Preheat oven to 325 degrees F.

Line baking sheet with aluminium foil.

In a bowl, beat egg white with water.  Stir in the nuts, mixing until well moistened.

In a small bowl, mix together sugar, salt, cinnamon and allspice.  Sprinkle over the moistened nuts.  Stir until well coated and spread on baking sheet.  Use a spatula.

Bake for 10 mins. and stir.  Bake for another 5 mins.  (This cooking time is the exact amount of time I need with my oven.)

Be careful not to burn the nuts.  Note:  The cooking process continues after taking them out of the oven.  Let cool.

They are so good, you can wrap them up and give them as a gift.
